Sun Valley Elementary Recycles to Help Support Ronald McDonald House
Our school Sun Valley Elementary and all the students in this school are heroes. With every can tab we bring in, we are helping kids and parents around the world. The Ronald McDonald House can help all families. Did you know even one of our teachers has family who could stay in a Ronald house? Ms. Petoskey, the AIG teacher for fourth and fifth grade, has a son and daughter in-law who could stay at one of the homes because their newborn, Jack was born prematurely.
The Ronald McDonald House is an invention created in 1974 in Philadelphia by a man named Dr. Audrey Evans. The house provides the following things: a comfortable place to sleep; a private bedroom and bathroom, home cooked meals, laundry and play rooms, shared living areas, computers with Internet access, ongoing support from staff and volunteers, exercise and game rooms, outdoor play areas, and activities such as games, crafts, and theme parties. In the home there are 78 guest rooms. There are now over 317 houses.
